Our Priorities

Our three interconnected priorities focus on strengthening family and community engagement, advancing educational equity, and expanding workforce development and employment opportunities to create opportunity and address intergenerational poverty for Dorchester County families.

How We Achieve Them: To guide collective action across these priorities, our countywide community plan is helping us move from planning to impact.

Other Plans and Initiatives: We’ve also developed additional plans to mobilize countywide and local coalitions in support of our vision, priorities and strategies:

• Community of Hope Cambridge – Neighborhood Action Plan (FY 2026-2029)
• Dorchester County Homeless Coalition Roadmap (A 3-year Countywide Plan to End Homelessness)
• Early Childhood Strategic Plan

These plans are interconnected, not standalone. Together, they align county agencies, schools, nonprofits, and residents to turn local priorities into coordinated systems of support, including youth development and enrichment, quality childcare, workforce development, training and mentorship.
